New Canaan Wins CHSCA Team of the Year
New Canaan high school football team wins CHSCA Team of the Year.
The New Canaan high school Rams football team has won the CHSCA Team of the Year award. The Rams went 9-1 in the regular season and then ran the table in the Class L State Playoffs beating Naugatuck 17-7, Cheshire 23-13, and Maloney in the Class L State Championship game 16-13.
New Canaan was led by head coach Lou Marinelli. In his 41 seasons at New Canaan, Marinelli has totaled 13 state championship wins and is the winningest coach in Connecticut high school football history with a record of 381-111-7.
The Rams were led by senior captains Mack Seelert, Ty Groff, Walker Blair, Graham Ladley, and Javier Perez-Soto. In addition to those five, New Canaan graduates a total of twenty six seniors this upcoming June. Congratulations to the New Canaan Rams on winning the CHSC Team of the Year award.
