Nike Coach of the Year Clinic, CHSCA Boys Hockey Player of the Week.
It’s a snowy Tuesday and the NFP team hopes you’re safe whether you had to go into work or were able to stay home today. There is a lot to get to this week with the ECC Athlete of the Week, CHSCA Boys Hockey Player of the Week, and the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic in Windsor, CT.
ECC Athlete of the Week
Last week, Jenny Lopez from Lyman Memorial High School and DeAndre Ducael from Norwich Free Academy took home the titles of ECC Athlete of the Week. This week we have fourteen athletes up for the award.
For Boys ECC Athlete of the Week, Lorenzo Ricera from Fitch High Schooldropped 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals in an ECC DII clinching win. Staying on the court, Yianni Baribeau from Killingly High Schoolposted 80 points, 57 rebounds, and 14 assists over a three game winning streak. Lebron Maurice of Montville High School averaged 29 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals over three games while also notching his 1000th point. Brandon Nagle from Woodstock Academy had 31 points and 11 rebounds over two games vs Waterford and Griswold. Transitioning to wrestling, Cameron Sammarco of Lyman Memorial High School won the Class M wrestling championship in the 170 pound weight class. To cap off the boys category, William Weinkopf from Norwich Free Academy went 6-0 in fencing matches and scored 30 touches and was only touched twice.
The candidates for Girls ECC Athlete of the Week is a tight competition. Annabelle Dueker from East Lyme High School had the highest individual score in DI and was named an ECC All Star. Savana Feuti from Killingly High School was named Class M All State, an ECC All Star, and was the first place tumbler at the Wolverine Camp. Cambell Apperson from Norwich Free Academy was named All State and an ECC All Star. Savanna Dubenetsky of Plainfield High School was named All State and scored the most points for her team at the ECCs. Adrianna Caba of Waterford High School was named All State, an ECC All Star, and led Waterford to win the ECCs. Mackenzie Pettegrow from Stonington High School dropped 9 points in the ECC semifinals leading the team to the ECC DII Championship.Adrianna Hardison of Ledyard High School averaged 16.5 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds over two wins vs Killingly and Bacon Academy. De’Ana Singleton from Fitch High School averaged 13 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals over three games.
This weeks winners are Brandon Nagle from Woodstock Academy and Annabelle Dueker from East Lyme High School.
CHSCA Boys Hockey Player of the Week
Last week, Elliot Demers from the Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks Co-op won CHSCA Boys Hockey Player of the Week. This week, we have three talented student athletes that are up for Week 7 CHSCA Boys Hockey Player of the Week.
Representing the CCC is goalie Jeremy Wagner from Newington High School. He posted 24 total saves in two shutout victories over Rocky Hill and South Windsor. Out of the SCC/SWC is Blake Baksay from Fairfield Prepwho tallied 17 points over three games. He netted 8 goals and added 9 assists over a three game stretch vs West Haven, Notre Dame West Haven, and Notre Dame Fairfield. Last and certainly not least is Doster Crowell from New Canaan out of the FCIAC. Crowell netted 3 goals and tacked on 2 assists in two games vs Fairfield Warde-Ludlowe and Notre Dame Fairfield.

Nike Coach of the Year Clinic
Starting this Thursday is the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic at Marriott Hotel in Windsor, CT. The clinic runs from Thursday to Saturday and the NFP Sports team will be in attendance for all three days. Stop by our booth to see what we have to offer for fundraising from custom discount products to edible products.
Some of this years prominent speakers are Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, Penn State head coach James Franklin, North Carolina head coach Mack Brown, UMass head coach Don Brown, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, Illinois head coach Bret Bielema, and UConn head coach Jim Mora.

Here at NFP Sports, we’re looking to expand our team! We’re looking for employees on the fundraising, marketing, and content sides. For fundraising, we’re searching for highly motivated individuals who want to get into sales or have prior sales experience. On the marketing side, we’re looking for people that have some understandings of social media to help with digital marketing.
