Welcome To The High Impact Times
A newsletter under the NFP Sports umbrella highlighting what we do and who we work with.
Welcome to the High Impact Times newsletter. This newsletter will be used to highlight what we do at NFP Sports on a day to day basis, along with the great deeds that our team and who we work with accomplishes.
NFP Sports was founded in 2009 by James Thomson with the goal to help high school and youth athletic teams, clubs, and organizations fundraise to their best ability. Over the years, James and the team at NFP has helped raise over $15 million dollars for organizations and teams in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey.
What NFP Does
While building connections in the fundraising world, NFP has constructed an impressive resume and has begun working with various organizations in Connecticut outside of fundraising. NFP handles the social media duties and runs the website for the Eastern Connecticut Conference. We implemented an “Athlete of the Week” program for all athletic seasons that has really caught on and helped build up their social media presence. After seeing the success that we’ve had with the ECC, the Connecticut Technical Conference reached out to enlist the same assistance.
In addition to working with the ECC and CTC, NFP works closely with the CHSCA and Walter Camp Football Foundation. For the 2022 high school football season, we helped run a “Player of the Week” program for every conference in Connecticut that was voted on by coaches from each conference.
For 16 years, NFP has put on the Walter Camp Breakfast of Champions to honor All State football players along with Connecticut High School Coach of the Year, Connecticut High School Player of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Inspiration Award. Past speakers at the event have been All Pro NFL running back Curtis Martin, former NFL defensive lineman and ESPN broadcaster Mike Golic Sr., and former USC long snapper Jake Olson who lost his eyesight at age 12.
On the fundraising front, NFP works with over a hundred different teams and clubs across the northeast, helping them make the most out of fundraising. This includes building custom discount cards, Golf Discount packs, Jersey Mikes Discount cards, Pizza Madness Discount packs, and edible products like David’s Cookies, Poppin’ Popcorn, and Beef Octane Jerky.
About Our Team
While NFP takes on a lot of different business ventures, our team is on the smaller side, but filled with hardworking individuals from many different backgrounds. James Thomson, who founded NFP, works around the clock to ensure that all operations run as smooth as possible. Whether this entails him packing a cookie dough order at 11:00PM or working out the final details of an upcoming event, James is on it. Kevin Digby is the fundraising coach who handles the south western portion of Connecticut.
NFPs office manager is Helene Boldt who handles operational duties such as working with merchants, coordinating delivery logistics, and contacting teams and organizations about fundraising updates. Brian Arcarese is NFP's Project Manager, who handles graphics, online polling, app development and website development.
Mike Massarelli joined the NFP team in the spring of 2021 and has become our lead sales rep for north eastern Connecticut. He plays an integral part in building a good portion of the fundraising products including custom discount cards and our unique line of VIP products, such as the Golf Discount Series, and the Pizza Madness Discount Pack Series. On the marketing side, Andrew Diaz, who worked with NFP from March of 2019 to March of 2020 is back as an intern for the winter. His duties include managing the newsletter along with our social media accounts.
Brittany Nutile worked with NFP for just under a year and was integral in NFP branching out into photography. Her time with NFP recently came to an end as she has accepted an internship with NASCAR on Tony Stewart's team.
